Institut für Hygiene und Mikrobiologie
Built specifically as a research facility for experimental medicine, this celebration of brutalism resides just across the street from an equally iconic brutalist building, the Mausbunker.
Since early 2021, this building has been given monument status after a motion by its owner Charité, Berlin's main umbrella organisation for medical facilities, to demolish it (along with the Mausbunker) to create a new campus.
