Wichita Lineman is a country classic and a much-loved song, yet the man who wrote it initially considered the track imperfect and incomplete. It makes you wonder how overly critical (and pedantic) we are sometimes.
My parents adore country music and I grew up on a diet of classic country tracks. So it was with a heavy heart that I learned of Glen Campbell’s death today.
Whilst browsing during my lunch break, I was drawn to this article about one of Campbell’s seminal hits, Wichita Linesman. I was fascinated by the backstory and the general insight given by the song’s writer, Jimmy Webb
Any other thoughts etc?
